Meet the Candidates — VP Sponsorship

On behalf of the election committee, we are pleased to announce that two candidates, Sarika Jain and Walt Huang, have submitted their application for the VP Sponsorship position. Electronic election will be open in the week of Mar 28 for seven days. Active IIBA Members associated with the Vancouver Chapter will receive an electronic ballot from ElectionBuddy to cast their votes. Please check your inbox and spam for the ballot.

These are our two candidates:
 

Sarika Jain, CFA, MBA, CBAP, ITIL, CSM, PMP, PMI-ACP brings over 20 years of experience as Business Analyst, Project Manager, Quality consultant, Trainer and Blogger. She has been a product expert on Oracle CRM and trained cross functional teams in the Asia and Pacific region. She has conducted workshops on best practices in Business Analysis, Project Management and Testing, Business Communication skills for cross border teams.  
 
With a deep interest in continuous improvement, Sarika has helped businesses create strategic and tactical solutions to realize value on business initiatives. She is also credited with creating the business case realization framework both in private and public sector organizations. She is a philosophy enthusiast and a life skills ‘work in progress’, a change manager in action.

Always open to new ideas, Sarika values willingness to learn over knowledge and experience and has mentored several aspiring Business Analysts and Project Analysts into their chosen careers. As a trusted advisor to co-workers and senior management, she brings negotiation and facilitation skills, and above all a great camaraderie to the table.


Walt Huang brings with him two decades of business analysis and project management experience from the financial services industry, spanning from New York to Singapore, and here in Vancouver. Currently a product manager at a Silicon Valley startup, Walt telecommutes from his home in Vancouver.  He is excited about alternative payment methods such as mobile wallets and cryptocurrencies.
 
Over the years, Walt has had the pleasure to be mentored and supported by many talented and outstanding BAs from a variety of backgrounds, both culturally and geographically. He enjoys the mentorship from someone who also benefits in reciprocity. Walt takes a collaborative approach in mentoring those new to the profession. He obtained his CBAP in January 2019.  He openly shares his secrets in passing this challenging exam.

A self-described health nut, Walt does intermittent fasting and follows a keto diet. Walt doesn’t maintain his youthful looks for no reason!

Walt is excited about the VP Sponsorship opportunity at IIBA Vancouver Chapter. He intends to leverage on his exceptional networking skills, to build new sponsor relationships as well as strengthen existing ones.  He believes that BAs new to the profession need a break: some discount codes would go a long way.
