IIBA Certification Study Group Session 7

FIll Out Your Application

This is the seventh study session of 2019. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. Nine monthly sessions will continue until November 2019. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

At this session, you will:

• learn about the different levels of IIBA certification and the requirements for each;
• learn about the information required and the process for submitting the application; and,
• get help on the most time consuming and challenging part of the application process: how to summarize your education and experience.

This session will be facilitated by Shawn Leslie BCs, CBAP. Shawn has 7 years of experience in Algorithmic Lottery Game Development in the Gambling Industry before he moved on from Mathematical Statistics towards Eliciting Requirements from users, accountants, and managers at Doctors of BC, a professional organization which represents all the Specialists and Family Doctors practicing in British Columbia. It was at Doctors of BC that Shawn was able to get the hours required to write and pass for the CBAP Exam on December 4th, 2018.

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. Please send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.

• Free for IIBA Vancouver Chapter members
• $5 for non-members
