BABOK Chapter 10: Techniques
This is the ninth study session of 2018. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. Nine monthly sessions will continue until November 2018. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.
The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.
Chapter 10 “provides a high-level overview of the techniques referenced in the Knowledge Areas of the BABOK® Guide. The techniques described in the BABOK® Guide are intended to cover the most common and widespread techniques practiced within the business analysis community.” (BABOK® Guide)
This session will be led by Holly Zhang, CBAP®, VP Professional Development. Participants of previous study sessions will present selected techniques from the 50 techniques described in the BABOK® Guide. The presenters will explain the techniques, and share their experiences and tips in applying these techniques.
Materials and Pre-work:
Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 10 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
