This virtual study group session will explore chapter 9 of the BABOK® Guide: Underlying Competencies. The chapter describes the behaviours, characteristics, knowledge, and personal qualities necessary to be an accomplished and adaptable business analyst.

The session is intended to help business analysts understand the concepts needed to achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. Expect a facilitated review of key concepts and study tips, discussion with other business analysis professionals, and practice exam questions.

Materials and Prework
To make the most of the session, please read Chapter 9 of the BABOK® Guide version 3. An online version is available at no cost to IIBA members through the IIBA Website. Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon.

Facilitator
This session will be facilitated by Jorge Vega, CBAP® with 20+ years of experience in the software industry and business analysis. He has worked for a variety of international organizations such as Boeing and AT&T, and he is currently doing senior business analysis consulting for Teck Resources Limited. Jorge has been a key business analyst/consultant for software sustainment, software development, and off-the-shelf software implementation projects. Jorge was the VP of Professional Development for the IIBA Vancouver Chapter between 2015 and 2016.
