IIBA Certification Study Group Session 8

Solution Evaluation

This is the eighth study session of 2020. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

Chapter 8 describes tasks that business analysts perform to assess the performance of and value delivered by a solution in use by the enterprise, and to recommend removal of barriers or constraints that prevent the full realization of the value. (BABOK® Guide)

This session will be facilitated by David Ghotbi, CBAP® who is a Senior Business Analyst and Consultant with over 20 years of experience in information technology. Engaged in multidisciplinary team environments in various industries such as retail, utilities, telecom, recycling, tourism and health, David has expertise in designing and implementing the entire life cycle process of a system using iterative waterfall process such as Rational Unified Process or the Agile methodology like Scrum. He is particularly interested in requirements management, business architecture and enterprise analysis. David has international experience in the European and North American IT markets. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and is certified in ITIL V3.

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 8 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.

• Zoom details will be provided half-hour prior to the event to the registrants.
