IIBA Certification Study Group Session 5

BABOK Chapter 6: Strategy Analysis

This is the fifth study session of 2020. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

Chapter 6
explains the tasks that business analysts perform to collaborate with stakeholders in order to identify a need of strategic or tactical importance, enable the enterprise to address that need, and align the resulting strategy for the change with higher and lower-level strategies.
This session will be facilitated by Robert Adams, CBAP®. Robert is a Senior Business Advisor at WorkSafeBC. He holds a Master in Business Administration with a specialization in Strategy (2012) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (1998). He worked internationally in financial software for many years, before returning to BC to join WorkSafeBC as a Business Analyst in 2012. He passed the CBAP exam in December, 2019.

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website).
