Scholarship Information & Application Form
The IIBA Vancouver Chapter offers an annual scholarship to Chapter members who have passed an IIBA certification examination. The scholarship covers application and examination fees. The successful applicant will be announced at the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November.
Applicants must have paid for the fees themselves (employer-paid fees are not eligible) and submit their application via email (development@vancouver.iiba.org) using the Application Form (see the Appendix).
1. IIBA Certifications
The scholarship covers the following IIBA certifications:
- Core Business Analysis Certifications
- Entry Certificate in Business AnalysisTM (ECBA®- Level 1)
- Certificate of Competency in Business AnalysisTM (CCBA® - Level 2)
- Certified Business Analysis ProfessionalTM (CBAP® - Level 3)
- Specialized Business Analysis Certifications
- Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC)
- Certification in Business Data Analytics (CBDA)
Scholarship is not applicable and doesn’t cover the recertification fees.
2. Eligibility
- The applicant has successfully passed one of the abovementioned exams
- The applicant must be a current member of the International Institute of Business AnalysisTM (IIBA®) and the Vancouver Chapter at the time of writing the exam
- The applicant has not got a reimbursement from employer. (It is the intent of the Vancouver Chapter to support those members who may find it financially difficult to pay the application and examination fees.)
3. Scholarship Availability and Deadline
- One scholarship is awarded annually.
- The applicant must have passed one of the certification exams mentioned in point #1 above ®) no later than September 30th of the application submission year. For applicants writing the exam between October 1 and October 31, applications will be reviewed for the following year.
- Scholarship application must be received by October 31st of the application submission year. (This allows the Chapter to review all applications and to determine the successful candidate before the GM.)
- Number of scholarships and total reimbursement amount for the specific year may vary and is determined in the Chapter’s budget.
4. Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Chapter involvement, including attendance at Chapter events and volunteer activities in Chapter initiatives or events
- Chapter study group involvement (attendance, material contributions, etc.)
- Length of membership with the IIBA Vancouver Chapter
- Past board positions
5. Value of Award
- Approved application and examination fees, paid in Canadian funds.
- The successful applicant is required to submit receipts (including exchange rates) for the application and examination fees.
