AGM Message from the President

On behalf of the Board of Directors of International Institute of Business Analysis^TM (IIBA®) Vancouver Chapter, I’m pleased to announce that the 2020 Chapter Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held virtually on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Please join us to celebrate our success over the past year and share our plans for the future.
 
In 2020, the Chapter reached a significant milestone of 15 years. Thanks to all members, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and especially the hard work of the Board, the Chapter has accomplished a lot in many areas this year.
 
The Chapter had continuous strong membership, enhanced communications, professional development opportunities and engagement with members via multiple channels. This year, the Chapter launched the mentorship program to provide opportunities for peer support and learning.
 
The Chapter quickly responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by switching to conduct online events to continue engaging with members. Since the last AGM, the Chapter have hosted:

• Our second successful Professional Development Day
• Seven speaker events, three workshops and one social event
• 10 BABOK and certification study group sessions

Additionally, the Chapter partnered with local associations, businesses and education institutions in raising the awareness about business analysis and providing professional development opportunities. 
 
If you are not currently a member of the Chapter, this is a great time to join (or renew). I would also encourage you to get involved as a volunteer to gain experiences, develop leadership skills and build a network with lasting connections.
 
Being a member of the Board is an ideal way to bring your ideas and enthusiasm to the Chapter and our BA community. This year, the following positions are up for election:

• President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• VP Communications
• VP Marketing
• VP Partnerships

Thank you to those who submitted applications for the Chapter Board. The Nomination Committee is reviewing nominations and will provide updates soon. The election will be held shortly and the results will be announced at the AGM.
 
I look forward to seeing you at the AGM to share our accomplishments and vision for continuing success in bringing values to members and the business analysis community.
