Role: Senior Business Analyst

Description:

As a Senior Business Analyst in Avocette’s Product Unit, you will be a key part of projects and support with our clients. You will engage directly with clients on new projects needing a leader who can clearly and confidently work with clients to achieve the right business solutions. You will also work directly with our technical and quality assurance teams throughout the project phases to ensure quality delivery of the solution. Our business analysts also play key roles in our ongoing support for clients and help our support team throughout the support process as required.

The successful candidate should be a strong confident person who is open, flexible and collaborative in working with the clients and with Avocette teams. You will have a strong understanding of project and software processes and lifecycles and you must be able to produce clear and concise documentation for communication with our clients and teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in business analysis including project scoping, estimating, documentation, stakeholder management, risk assessment, communication planning and implementation.
  • Experience with various levels of government (provincial and local), health care, social services and education sectors highly desirable
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with the systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse and varied project teams of both technical and business team members.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Post-secondary education or a combination of related education and experience.

Role: Research Platforms Analyst, ARC

The Research Platforms Analyst, ARC leads the assessment of researchers needs in an effort to align the development of IT platforms, software and tools with digital research infrastructure investments at UBC.

The Research Platforms Analyst, ARC is responsible for providing support for the overall design, implementation, deployment, and delivery of platforms and services components of digital research infrastructure (DRI) projects, in alignment with UBC ARC strategy and goals.

The Research Platforms Analyst participates in the definition of projects around the development, deployment and delivery of digital platforms and services supporting advanced research computing, the data management needs of the researchers, and digital research infrastructure (DRI) consultations system-wide. The Research Platforms Analyst provides continuous improvement recommendations as part of regular operations.
