Introduction to the Study Group & IIBA Certification

BABOK Chapters 10

The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. 

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

 

Chapter 10 “provides a high-level overview of the techniques referenced in the Knowledge Areas of the BABOK®  Guide. The techniques described in the BABOK® Guide are intended to cover the most common and widespread techniques practiced within the business analysis community.” (BABOK® Guide)

This session will be facilitated by Holly Zhang, CBAP®. Holly Zhang is a Senior Business Advisor with over 25 years of experience in information technology development, business analysis, project management and adult education. She is also an instructor for the UBC Sauder Continuing Business Studies’ Business Analysis program since 2013. Holly currently serves as the president for the IIBA Vancouver Chapter.

 

Holly Zhang is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®), a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®), a certified Prosci change management practitioner, a certified SAFe 5 Practitioner, SAFe 5 Agile Product Management and SAFe 5 Lean Portfolio Management from Scaled Agile.

 

Materials and Prework

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 10 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.

Event Time & Location

  • Zoom details will be provided half-hour prior to the event to the registrants.

Participants are required to use their full name when logging in for Registration and CDU/PDU tracking.
