IIBA Certification Study Group Session 2

BABOK Chapter 3: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring

This is the second study session of 2019. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. 9 monthly sessions will continue until November 2019. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

Chapter 3 explains the tasks for planning business analysis approach, stakeholder engagement, business analysis governance and information management.

This session will be facilitated by Leonardo Arbelaez, CBAP, PMP, DTM. Leonardo is an accomplished Senior IT consultant with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Currently he's a Business Intelligence Consultant at Visier. In addition, he has worked in global Initiatives as a Business Analyst and Project Manager. Leonardo is looking forward to exchanging insights on the topic of "Business analysis planning and monitoring" and enhancing learning outcomes of the CBAP exam preparation.

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK®; Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 3 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
