BABOK Chapter 3: Business Analysis and Monitoring

This is the second study session of 2018. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. 9 monthly sessions will continue until November 2018. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

 

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

Chapter 3 explains the tasks for planning business analysis approach, stakeholder engagement, business analysis governance and information management.
 

This session will be facilitated by Jorge Vega, CBAP® with over 19 years of experience. He has worked for a variety of international organizations such as Boeing and AT&T, and currently works for Optimal Efficiency as a Senior Product Owner. Jorge has been a key business analyst/consultant for software sustainment, software development, and off-the- shelf software implementation projects. Jorge was the VP of Professional Development for the IIBA Vancouver Chapter for both 2015 and 2016.
 

Materials and Pre-work:
Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapters 3 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
