BABOK Chapter 4: Elicitation and Collaboration

This is the third study session of 2018. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. Nine monthly sessions will continue until November 2018. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

 

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

 

Chapter 4 explains the tasks that business analysts perform to obtain information from stakeholders and confirm the results. It also describes the communications with stakeholders.

This session will be facilitated by Michelle Joy Francia, CBAP®. Michelle has over 12 years of experience in business analysis on solving process and technology issues for enterprise systems, web, and mobile applications. She has worked on projects in Canada, Spain, and the Philippines across various industries such as utilities, banking, healthcare, corrections, and transportation and logistics. She was the first business analyst of the IIBA Vancouver chapter to successfully achieve the CBAP® designation under the IIBA's enhanced certification program.

 

Materials and Pre-work:
Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapters 4 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
