BABOK Chapter 5: Requirements Life Cycle Management

This is the fourth study session of 2019. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. Nine monthly sessions will continue until November 2019. You do not have to have attended the first session to attend this one.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.
Chapter 5 explains the tasks that business analysts perform to manage and maintain requirements and design information from inception to retirement.
This session will be facilitated by David Ghotbi CBAP® who is a Senior Business Analyst and Consultant with over 19 years of experience in information technology. Engaged in multidisciplinary team environments in various industries such as retail, utilities, telecom, recycling, tourism and health, David has expertise in designing and implementing the entire life cycle process of a system using iterative waterfall process such as Rational Unified Process or the Agile methodology like Scrum. He is particularly interested in requirements management, business architecture and enterprise analysis. David has international experience in the European and North American IT markets. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and is certified in ITIL V3.
 

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 5 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
