Speaker: Donovan Mutschler, MA, Strategic Change Consultant at Government of Saskatchewan

 


Personal Branding is a way of establishing and consistently reinforcing who we are and what we stand for in life and career. It is a global phenomenon that has become increasingly important to all career-minded individuals. Whether you are at a decision crossroads, looking for inspiration or words of wisdom, or feeling comfortable along the career path, you will come away from this experience with innovative ideas and tools, including a template for discovering personal core values and how to practically apply them to everyday decisions both big and small.

About the speaker:

Donovan Mutschler, MA is a consistently high-performing leadership practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience with the federal and provincial public service and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. He possesses an acquired and demonstrated knowledge of leadership and engagement strategies, which improve relations with internal and external stakeholders. Donovan’s five core values are spirituality, faith, teamwork, success, and truth. He sets his values into action as he nurtures highly successful teams that possess a strong sense of integrity. He is the recipient of multiple awards for leadership excellence, including the 2002 Health Canada Deputy Minister’s Awards for Team Excellence, the 2013 National Managers’ Community Regional Honors Award, and the 2021 Ministry of Education Deputy Minister’s Award.

Donovan holds a Bachelor of Arts Psychology from the University of Regina and a Masters in Marriage and Family Counselling. He also holds a masters certificate in Professional Leadership from the University of Regina.

Donovan entered public service as a Benefit Analyst with Health Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health branch (now Indigenous Services Canada). His various positions since then included a four-year assignment as the Saskatchewan Regional Coordinator for the National Managers’ Community. During those four years, Donovan embraced his passion for leadership development. He focused on developing engagement and coaching skills training workshops, and leadership forums for himself and other middle managers across the federal public service. He encouraged the development of a network of workshop participants into a community of practitioners who could support each other to practice their new skills. He continuously surrounds himself with exceptional regional, national, and internationally known leaders and mentors, sharpening his own skills by learning from these highly skilled professionals.

Donovan joined the Government of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Education in 2015. He currently serves in the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement as the Strategic Change Consultant. He continues to work with private and public organizations bringing processes that support continuous improvement in individuals, teams, and organizations.
