IIBA Certification Study Group Session 1

Introduction to the Study Group & IIBA Certification BABOK Chapters 1 & 2

This is the first session of the IIBA certification study group sessions in 2022. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. The 10 monthly sessions will continue until November.

The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.

Chapter 1 introduces the BABOK® Guide and explains what business analysis is and who a business analyst is.

Chapter 2 includes information that provides a foundation for all other content, concepts, and ideas within the BABOK® Guide.

This session will be facilitated by Holly Zhang, CBAP®. Holly Zhang is a Senior Business Advisor with over 25 years of experience in information technology development, business analysis, project management and adult education. She is also an instructor for the UBC Sauder Continuing Business Studies’ Business Analysis program since 2013. Holly currently serves as the president for the IIBA Vancouver Chapter.

Holly Zhang is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®), a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®), a certified Prosci change management practitioner, a certified SAFe 5 Practitioner, SAFe 5 Agile Product Management and SAFe 5 Lean Portfolio Management from Scaled Agile.

Materials and Pre-work

Participants should use a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapters 1 and 2 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.

Event Time & Location

• Thursday, Feb 10, 2022, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT
• Zoom details will be provided half-hour prior to the event to the registrants.

Participants are required to use their full name when logging in for Registration and CDU/PDU tracking.

Cost

• Free for IIBA members
• $5 for non-members
