About This Event
This is the first session of the IIBA certification study group sessions in 2026. The purpose of these sessions is to help BAs understand and achieve International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®) certifications. At these sessions, participants will review and discuss key concepts, knowledge and skills, and share experiences in business analysis practices. The 10 monthly sessions will continue until November.
The sessions are based on A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) version 3.
Chapter 1 introduces the BABOK® Guide and explains what business analysis is and who a business analyst is.
Chapter 2 provides a foundation for all other content, concepts, and ideas within the BABOK® Guide.
Facilitator
This session will be facilitated by Dr. Peter Riddell, Peter is a distinguished researcher, management consultant, and educator, he specializes in Business Analysis, Project Management, and Risk Management. His extensive academic background includes a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). Moreover, Peter holds several certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
Materials and Pre-work
Participants should bring a copy of the BABOK® Guide version 3, available online at no cost for IIBA members (IIBA Website). Non-members can purchase a PDF, ePub or Kindle version at the IIBA Website or a printed copy on Amazon. To facilitate an effective study, we ask participants to read Chapter 1 and 2 in advance and send any questions to development@vancouver.iiba.org.
